Obituary of Doreen Ruth Gillespie
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Doreen at her home in Ennismore on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the age of 89. Loving Mum of Lori Parnell (Jeff), Kerry Timmermans (Pete), and Lisa Smith. Cherished Grandma of Jennifer Van Dolder (Mike), Justin Parnell (Jen), Adam Timmermans (Amanda), Rob Timmermans (Stephanie), Kevin Timmermans (Danielle), Carly Timmermans, Emerald Gillespie and Robyn Gillespie. Blessed Great Grandmother of Vivian and Vanessa Van Dolder, Owen, James and Keira Timmermans and Leah Wesseler.
Predeceased by her sons Rob and Don Gillespie, sister Linda Scott and brother Glenn Cooey. Dearly missed by her nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Grace and Hubert Cooey, and Ruth Cooey (Mitchell).
Doreen was always available for a chat with her coffee (reheated several times). Her wit, humour and her willingness to be up for anything has given us a lifetime of memories. She was proof that a positive outlook and a kind heart will bring the most amazing joyful life, filled with love. Doreen was cherished by all who knew her. She made us happy when skies were grey. Everyone who was fortunate enough to meet Mum became like family. She was so proud of and genuinely loved you all. Mum made the world a better place. Therefore in lieu of flowers please embrace your family.
Cremation and arrangements have taken place at HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield. A celebration of her LIFE will be held at a later date.
