Doreen Evelyn Campbell (nee Langman)
July 18, 1931 – April 14, 2021

The family of Doreen Evelyn Campbell (nee Langman), of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, regretfully announce her passing on April 14th in the Dartmouth General Hospital, with family by her side.
Doreen was born in Welland Ont. on July 18th, 1931, the only child of Tom and Dorris (Weaver) Langman.
She and her husband of 52 years, Malcolm, lived in Welland, Edmonton, Toronto, Saint John, Dartmouth and finally settled in Oakfield. Doreen stayed home to raise her children, then entered the workforce at BIO after moving to Nova Scotia. Forever driven to work her way up the ranks, she attended Saint Mary’s University, obtaining her commerce degree Cum Laude, while working full time. In 1980 she began working for Transport Canada at the Halifax Airport, retiring from management in 1994. Avid golfers, she and Mack were often at their beloved Oakfield Golf Club. She served on the executive of the Nova Scotia Ladies Golf Association, was treasurer of the church, and enjoyed volunteering at Beacon House. In early 2009, Doreen was hit by another car and spent 8 months in hospital, forever changing her life. She sold her home, moved back to Dartmouth and for the past 12 years has battled back from those multiple injuries.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2002. She is survived by her children Lynne (Brian Nichols), Grant (Yan Mowatt), Rhonda (Donnie Roche), Beth (Gary Slaunwhite), and Tracy (Scott Williams); 20 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her special surrogate daughter (cousin), Nancy Lynne Dair.
The family would like to thank her friends and church family at SJUC, especially the never wavering team of drivers to and from Sunday Service, Dr. Ross Leighton for his many, many years of fixing her up, and the amazing team at the Dartmouth General Hospital, including Victor who always brightened her day when delivering meals. We’d also like to thank her new-found friends at The Admiral in Dartmouth, especially the tireless, compassionate Dr. S, who never gave up fighting for her during her 8 weeks there.
Funeral will be held at St. John’s United Church, 3360 Highway #2, Fall River 11:00 am Wednesday April 21st, 2021 Family flowers only. Private family interment to follow.
