Donna Ann Woods

Woods, Donna Ann age 73 years of Bedford, passed away peacefully at home holding her children’s hands on July 2, 2021. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Kathleen (Kelly) Levandier. Donna was married to her loving husband Gary at the age of 21. They made their home on Beaverbank Road, where she was active in her church, St. John Vianney, bowling and Girl Guides. When their 2 children (one boy, one girl) came along they fulfilled their dream of having a perfect family. Their home, complete with a backyard pool, was an oasis for family, friends and lots of neighbourhood children. When Gary died at the age of 54 life took Donna to Bedford, where she was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, branch 95. There she enjoyed social activities such as darts, bingo and helping out at functions, usually as the bartender. She was full of energy and a visit from her was like a hurricane blowing through and although she was tired at the end she was still feisty and would speak her mind. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and was an amazing daughter, caring for her mother in later years enabling her to spend her final years in her own home. An obituary is only a brief glance of someone’s life, there is so much more that could be said but the most important thing is Donna had a heart of gold and always put others needs ahead of her own, and for that she will be remembered. She was confident leaving this world that she would be reuinited with those that went before her, especially her husband Gary. She is survived by daughter Tracy (Kenny) Stone, Beaver Bank. son Robert (Ali), Ottawa, grandchildren Vanier Stone (age 11) and Witt-Lee Stone (age 7), brother Paul (Linda) , Montreal , John (Vickie), Moncton, Phillip (Julie), Bedford, David (Jenny), Dartmouth, several lovely nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by sisters in law Deidre Levandier, Heather (Bill) Wilson, brothers in law Peter (Maureen) and Michael Woods. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Gary and brother, Richard, father and mother in law Gordon & Peggy Woods. A special thank you to those that helped out in the last few weeks allowing Donna to stay in her own home until the end.
