Obituary of Donald W. Lyons
Lyons , Donald William, June 6, 1946- March 8, 2021
It is with great sadness that we say good bye to Donnie Lyons, of St. Stephen , NB , husband, father, brother, grampy and friend. Born in Blackville , New Brunswick , and raised in Doaktown, he was the sixth of twelve children born to Robin and Bridgette (Keenan} Lyons . Donnie is survived by his wife Jane (Matheson) Lyons, his children Thomas (Naomi) of Japan, Robin Lyons Marlatt (Darren), Collingwood, NS, Dawn Lyons (Martin Lavigne), Montreal, QC, and Matthew Lyons (Nadine), Vancouver, BC., and his grandchildren Erika, Kai, Alexandra, Bruce, Sydney, Felix, Eva, Liam and Audrey. Also survived by Michelle (Billy) Coldwell, Wolfville , N.S. and their children Jazmine and Jesse. Survived by brothers and sisters Ethel McNeil, Faye Golding, Jackie Lyons, Marianne Dube, Meggy Griffin (Mike). Judy Chiasson, Bunny Parnell, Jerry Lyons, Danny Lyons as well as many in laws and outlaws, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Bobby and David.
Donnie was a friend to many; his favorite times were spent at Basswood Ridge with friends, golfing, curling and making the ice at the rink, playing cards with family, and time at the camp. He loved to jam with friends, playing his guitar and singing his signature song, “Sonny’s Dream.” His and Jane’s hospitality. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Due to COVID, there will be no visitation. A private Mass for family and close friends will be held at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lonicera Hall, or Lincourt Manor.
