Obituary of Donald William Pierson
Donald “Don” William Pierson
(September 24, 1942 – October 29, 2021)
On Friday, October 29, 2021, at the age of 79 years, Don passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose.
Don was born in Viking and grew up on the family farm near Killam, AB. After moving to Sherwood Park, he proudly served with the Edmonton Police Force for twenty-five years before retiring.
Don will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Darlene (nee Polehoyke). He is also survived by his children, Doug (Michelle) Pierson, and Lisa (Tony) Cameron. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Finn, Mia, Erica, and Aaron, all of whom he was very proud of.
Don was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Mabel Pierson; as well as, his sisters Maureen Suitor (Sam), and Louise Grant (Ken); and infant brother James.
The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Letley, the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, and to the Home Care Nurses for their exceptional care.
As per Don’s request, a private service will be held at a later date.
Don was a lover of all animals big and small. Donations will be greatly accepted in Don’s memory to the Alberta SPCA for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Donald
