Obituary of Donald Ray Corrigan
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Ray Corrigan announces his sudden passing on December 07, 2021, at 88 years young.
Donald leaves behind his beloved wife Marleen McCoy of 64 years. He was the much loved father to Doug (Liz Desjardins), David (Colleen Belsher), Mervin (Antonella Dimario) and Brent (Linda Brand). He was the cherished grandfather to Adam (Heather), Travis (Michaela), Thomas (Rebecca), Breanna, Daniel, (Audrey) and Tessa.
He was also a beloved great grandfather to Emily, Alex, Hailey (Adam and Heather), Jameson, Raleigh (Travis and Michaela), Avery, Charlotte, Emalyn (Thomas and Rebecca).
He was a dear brother-in-law to June Orr (the late Garnet), Joan (the late Cecil), Donna McCoy (the late Frank) and Billy McCoy (Dorothy).
Donald leaves behind a successful farming legacy, surrounded by good friends, family and community filled with fond memories of him. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren, sharing his stories, skills and wisdom. Ever devoted to his community, Donald was very active with St. Paul’s Anglican Church and, in earlier years, the Shawville Odd Fellows Lodge. He generously volunteered his time to parish fundraising meals and activities as well as aiding local farmers in times of need.
In retirement, Donald enjoyed peaceful moments in the outdoors, playing cards with neighbors and supporting his family and grandchildren.
A public service will be held in the spring, date to be announced.
