Randy was a kind and generous person with a quick wit and a curiosity for learning. He married the love of his life, Margaret, and they shared many adventures. He described their life together as wonderful and blessed. Traveling extensively together, attending (and sometimes participating in) stand-up comedy and improv, gardening, raising their children and caring for the children of others, their lives were full. Randy started his own successful business in Truro before retiring to Halifax. Randy loved his family dearly and cared for them throughout his life. He was an avid crossword puzzle solver, reader, made the best turkey gravy, and always made eggs benedict on Christmas morning. He had a great love of food, including Margaret’s homemade bread, and even ate tofu a few times for his daughter. He believed that potatoes from the garden were best eaten early, a constant source of debate in the Spring and Summer with his wife Margaret. He loved reading political thrillers, animals, music, sarcastic humor, was especially talented at the dad joke, and was a great hugger.
Randy was cherished, and will be deeply missed.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Donald Randy Ranald MacDonald October 03 1957 July 03 2021..
