Donald Keith Railton went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2021 at the age of 88, in Stratford General Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara after sixty years of marriage and two beloved children; Cathy of California and Kevin and his wife Lucy of Stratford, along with his dear grandsons Parker and Madden. He is predeceased by his brothers Graydon and Glenn and remembered by extended family and friends.
Don graduated from Guelph Agricultural College in 1956, followed by a year of study at the Ontario College of Education. He then taught with the Peel Board, first at Brampton High, then as a Vice Principal at Brampton Centennial Secondary School until 1980, when he was transferred to Applewood Heights, before retiring in 1992. He then enjoyed having more time to spend with his family and he and Barbara travelled extensively.
Don was also able to pursue his hobbies of photography, growing roses and enjoying classical music.
It was his privilege to share his love and knowledge of the Scriptures down through the years, as he taught Bible studies to various age groups at Pioneer Camp, First Baptist Church and St. Paul’s United Church in Brampton.
The family will have a private celebration of Don’s life at a later date. They would like to thank the staff for their kindness and the compassionate care Don received while hospitalized.
