On October 28th, 2021 (Karen) Diane Bestard 73, passed away peacefully in Peterborough Ontario in the presence of her family.
Diane had been a dedicated long time Emergency Nurse at Peterborough Civic Hospital retiring officially in 2010.
Diane was a very strong and caring person who was never afraid to help some in time of need. She always had a listening ear whether you were a stranger or a friend.
Diane is predeceased by her parents, George and Enid Bennett. Diane will be very sadly missed by her husband and soul mate Will. Survived by sister Sandy Bennett and twin brother Daryl Bennett(Jewell). Fiercely loving mother of Mike Huismans (Shanon), Christopher Huismans (Emily), Jana Gmur (Ivo), and Christen Bestard (Nicole). Diane’s grandchildren Grace, Rees, Arjen, Doutzen were the light of her life. Grandma/Giga cherished all the time she got to spend with them, her hugs and love will be greatly missed. Diane also had a special bond with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Safe journey to the best Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Friend, and Nurse. We are eternally grateful for your unwavering love.
A visitation will be held Wednesday November 3rd from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM and a Service will be held on Thursday November 4th at 11 AM at Ashburnham Funeral Home 840 Armour Road Peterborough.
Proof of Covid 19 Vaccinations are required for both the Visitation and the Service.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at PRHC for their care and support during this difficult time.
Donations to the PRHC or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
