Desmond Meneely
May 7th, 1949 – November 3rd, 2021
Passed away peacefully in the Welland Hospital with his family by his side.
Son of the late David and Sarah Meneely.
Loving Father to Heather Adair (Jake) and Gary Meneely.
Grandad to Carys, Seamus, Declyn, Ewan and Liam.
Brother to the late David (Jean), Ken (Patricia) Lorraine (Ann) And Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Des was born in Belfast Northern Ireland. He moved to Canada in 1975 and settled in Port Elgin, ON where he started his career at the Bruce Nuclear Power Plant.
After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spent time as a snowbird in Florida. He eventually settled and resided in Port Colborne, Ontario.
Des loved racketball, pickle ball, gardening, and his Parrots Hans, Kiwi, Cocco and his dog Brandy.
A private family service will be held on Friday November 5th at 2 pm at Sanctuary Park Cemetery in Port Elgin, Ontario
A celebration of Life will take place on Saturday November 13th at the Steele and Clover Irish Pub from 12-3 pm in Port Colborne, Ontario.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Happy’s Place – Retirement for Dogs or the Welland and District Humane Society.
