Delmer George Huber 1949 2021

Obituary of Delmer George Huber
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Delmer of Regina, SK. at the age of 72 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Eunice.
Delmer is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Cherryl-Lynn; daughter Lisa (Glen) Faubert; grandson Austin (Midge); granddaughter Élan Faubert; brothers, Cliff (Cheryl) and family, and Lloyd (Jean) and family; sister, Sherilyn (Kirby) Senft and family; and brothers-in-law, Ken (Rita) Kube and family, Daryl (Denise) Kube and family.
Delmer started his venture in life as a barber in Lipton, SK. for several years and also drove school bus there. He worked building the dam by Outlook, SK. from spring till fall of 1972.
In December of 1972 he had a snowmobile accident that left him as a paraplegic. He then had to venture into a different career path so he went to business college and took bookkeeping and also took some university classes to become an accountant which he continued to do for over 45 years. He worked at MWC Chartered Accountants for over 30 years and then set up an office at home and continued working till he passed away.
Delmer was an avid hockey and curling fan. He curled on the Regina wheelchair curling team for a few years and went to the Canadian Wheelchair curling championships in Nova Scotia in 2009 and Kelowna in 2010.
Delmer was the President of CPA Sask (Canadian Paraplegic Assoc.) for many years and fundraised for the Regina Wheel Challenge Wheelchair Relay. He was also on the board of Directors for SCI Sask. (Spinal Cord Injury).
Delmer faced many health issues over his life time. The last 5 years were very hard on him between surgeries and cancer but he never let anything hold him back. He always fought through adversities.
His family was his first priority, making sure they were always all taken care of. He was always so proud of his grandchildren Austin and Élan, attending every sport and activity they participated in. He was their biggest and proudest fan. He was blessed with a wonderful daughter, son-in-law, grandson, granddaughter and their significant others.
Delmer loved to visit and talk about any subject. He and Cherryl-Lynn also traveled on many vacations with family and friends with their favorite destination being Hawaii.
This was a man that lived his life to the fullest and never let anything hold him back. He is an inspiration to all that knew him and he will be sadly missed by everyone.
A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at a later date.
