Obituary of Dean Robert Sloan
Sloan, Dean
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dean Robert Sloan on Sunday December 5th, 2021 in his 48th year.
He will be fiercely missed by his son Xavier who became the light of Dean and Sharon Cushing’s life, his mom Jane Sloan, his twin brother and other half, Dave Sloan (wife Vanessa Jolley, and their children Jack and Leo), his sister Erin Mash (husband Dave, and their children Charley and Ronan) and the extended Sloan, Williamson, Jolley, Mash and Cushing families, as well as the multitude of friends he made along the way.
He is welcomed into the open arms of his dad, Rusty Sloan.
Dean was always most at home outdoors, especially when on Trout Lake. He will be remembered for his agility on the rink and love of hockey, through which he and Dave developed some of the most cherished friendships of their lives. A true competitor at heart, Dean was always ready to engage in a lively game or discussion, particularly with his favourite rival, his brother Dave.
Dean was easy to love and be around, always quick to make others laugh with his signature wit and dry sense of humor.
Rest well Dean, you are loved, paddle on, the wind is at your back.
