It is with great sadness that the family of David Xavier Joseph Lavigne, formerly of South Bathurst, husband of Pamela Elliott, announce his passing on Saturday July 17, 2021, at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst, at the age of 81.
Born in Big River, he was the son of the late William T. Lavigne of South Bathurst and Elizabeth Lavigne (Duclos) of Pigeon Hill.
Besides his wife, David is survived by:
One brother, Maynard (late Jessie) of Bathurst.
One sister, Patrina Hofmann (Werner) of Montreal, Que.
One brother-in-law, Raymond Doucet (late Gloria) of Bathurst.
One sister-in-law, Roslyn Simms (late Normie) of Newfoundland.
Twenty-five nieces and nephews.
Daughter, Wanda, son-in-law Ken and grandson Patrick of Blaine, Washington, USA.
Also survived by Pam’s family in Montreal, Jim (Julie) Elliott, Todd, Jeffrey, Ryan and Norman Elliott.
He was predeceased by eight brothers: Cletus (late Betty), Edgar (late Sybil), Elmer (late Grace), Alvin, Norman, Tommy (in infancy), Thomas “Tommy” and Omer.
Four sisters, Agnita (late Ernest), Robina, Marjorie (late Yves) and Gloria.
There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be celebrated from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, by invitation only in August. Donations in memory of David may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
