PRIMEAU, David James
It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Friday June 25 2021 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Born in Peterborough Sept 7 1954 Dave was the loving son of the late Leo Gerrard Primeau and the late Jacqueline Olive Morin. Best friend and soul mate of Christine Yates. Cherished father of Jessie (Melissa) and Ryan. Dave was overjoyed and loved being a first time grandpa to four month old Austin. Dave will be sadly missed by his many siblings, Michael (Calgary), Dennis (twin brother, Campbellford), Wayne (Kim), Paul (Shirley) (Halifax), Peter (Thunderbay), Anne (Campbellford), Carol Higgins (Bob), Gail Hetherton (Paul Higgins) and sister-in-law Pat Primeau. Predeceased by brothers Fred, Doug and Johnny, brother-in-laws Jim Hetherton and Don (Doggie) Emby. Dave is also loved and will be missed by his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Millie McFadyen, Bob Sutherland (Cathy), Sharon O’Brien, Don Yates, Diana Olver (Phil), Larry Yates (Cheryl), Brenda Moore (Joe), Carole Constable (Eric) and Sandra Casey (Frank). Predeceased by his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Raymond and Mildred Yates. Sister-in-laws Gail Moore and Marlene George, Brother-in-laws Ray McFadyen, Mike Jones, Gerry O’Brien and Gerry George.Dave was so loved by many many nieces and nephews, friends and his cherished long family friend Liz Bonner. Retired after 35 years from General Motors, Dave was also a bricklayer by trade. He was most happy just working around the house and took great pride in his yards. His passions were the love for his wife, children, grandson and his beloved dogs. He crafted the art of woodturning and became a member of the Kawartha Woodturners Guild. He loved being in the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Dave had the kindest heart, he was loved by all and was the first one to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Thank you to Palliative Care Team at PRHC and Dr Matheson for the excellent care Dave received during his illness. Cremation has taken place and due to Covid restrictions a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers donations if so desired can be made to the Turtle Trauma Centre.
