IDE, David Heihachiro
With sorrow in our hearts,
we are sad to announce that David Heihachiro Ide, born July 9, 1936,
passed away January 6, 2021. Beloved husband of Mishiko for
58 years. He is predeceased by son Andrew, and sister
Takeko. He leaves behind daughter-in-law Michele, and
grandchildren Raphael and Mayumi; daughter Daien (Hiroshi) and
grandson Sage; as well as brother Kennosuke (Eiko), sisters Yoko and
Kayoko. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and
nephews, extended family and friends. David was born in
Toronto and grew up in Japan from the age of three until returning to
Canada in 1954. He worked for Canada’s Centre for
Inland Waters until retirement. He had a passion for the
sport of Judo and taught at the Seikeikan Judo Club in
Burlington. He also loved he beauty of nature and the farm
where he lived from 1974 until his passing. He enjoyed
singing and was a long-standing choir member of the Kirkwall
Presbyterian Church. With music in his heart, he expressed
his love of life through song. David will be remembered as a
strong , quiet and loving husband, father and grandfather, always with
a smile for everyone he met. Due to COVID Protocol, the
family will be having a Private Service; A Celebration of
life will take place at a later date. If you wish,
donations to the Kirkwall Presbyterian Church or the Canadian Diabetes
Association would appreciated.
