David Bryan Holub Wednesday December 15th 2021 avis de deces

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the death of David Bryan Holub who passed away December 15, 2021 in his 74th year. Bryan was the beloved husband of Anne (Prus) for 50 years. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Ray Holub and his brother Tom (Delores). He leaves behind his wife Anne, his two sons, Brett (Silvia) of St. Catharine’s and Glenn of Hamilton, his two grandchildren Naiomi and Gavin, his brothers Bruce, Jake, Blair and Craig, his sisters-in-law, his close cousin Roger (Janice) and his aunts, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews who were close and dear to him.
After obtaining an Engineering degree from Queen’s University in 1970, he began a career as a secondary mathematics teacher for four years in Sudbury before returning to Western University in London, Ontario to obtain a law degree in 1977. He practiced in Sudbury for six years before relocating and joining a law firm in Guelph, Ontario where he specialized in civil litigation. He ended his legal career as a Small Claims Court Deputy Judge in numerous courts in Southern Ontario.
Bryan was an avid fan of many sports particularly football, basketball and golf. He was particularly happy with his hole in one at Blue Springs Golf Course and an opportunity to attend the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. He and Anne enjoyed golfing, cycling and traveling all of which they enjoyed in Arizona, Florida and Myrtle Beach. Bryan spent over 60 years at the family cottage at Fairbank Lake in Northern Ontario and the last four years at his own island cottage on the same lake. Many memorable times were spent with family and close friends cruising the lake in their pontoon boat.
His two sons gave him the nickname “Dr. Right” as for his well known quip: “I may not always be right, but I’m never wrong.” To many he was known as “The Firm”. As a grandfather, Naiomi and Gavin will remember him for the tackle trading and trolling on the lake. Knowing the way to a man’s heart, Bryan appreciated Silvia’s culinary skills at numerous family gatherings.
Bryan will be missed by his close friends and many colleagues in the field of law and the judicial courts in which he served.
A service will be held at Corbett Funeral Home in Galt, Ontario but will be restricted to invitation only. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario (www.hospicewellington.org)
A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held at his home at a future date.
