David Andrew Cowls:
With his family by his side, Dave passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on August 13, 2021 at the age of 57.
Loving father of Troy Cowls (Shannon Janes), Rebecca Cowls, Darla Cowls, and Adella Cowls (Kyle Schutten). Remembered by his cherished grandson, Boston Cowls.
Beloved Son of Carol and John Thorley.
Dear brother of Jeff Cowls (April), Cathie Cowls, Elizabeth Boss (Martin), and Julia Smith (Mike). Uncle to Michael (Jamie), Melissa (Dan), Angel, Carol (Brandon), Sara, Megan, Alison (Tom), and Justin.
To say he left his mark on this world is an incredible understatement. Teaching everyone around him the meaning of life and living a rockin’ one of his own. Dave was a well loved and known entertainer, singer, songwriter, performer, and raconteur. Performing with his much beloved bands, “Southern Steel”, “The Nervous Wrecks” and “The Stage Junkies”. He had the remarkable ability to walk into the room and steal the show with his exuberance and charm, his voice radiating through a smoke-filled pub or a boardwalk patio on the beach. He touched an extraordinary amount of people while he was here through his music and crazy stories, his memories will live on forever. Dave was a friend, a son, an uncle, a grandfather, and a very proud father of four.
Dad, we love you with our entire heart, body, mind, and soul. You’ve left behind a legacy for us. You are now an angel of our own. You suffer the complexities of this life no longer. No more pain, no more sadness, no more struggle. You are rockin’ with the angels in heaven. May your lungs and soul be free forever. Rest in your most peaceful sleep. We love you for eternity.

May 15th, 1964 – August 13th, 2021
A private family funeral will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Cremation will be taking place.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be Sunday, October 10, 2021 at his parents home, 48681 Conservation Line, RR#5, Aylmer from 1-4 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Homewood Research Institute, or St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home and celebration of life).
