Obituary for
Darlene Reimer
Darlene Reimer, age 61 years, passed away peacefully at her home, leaving behind her soulmate, Glenn, who she loved with all her heart. Darlene was predeceased by her mom and dad, Mike and Sonia Krywiak; and brother-in-law, Carlo. Darlene is lovingly remembered and will be missed by her husband of 33 and a half years, Glenn. Darlene’s daughter, Hannah (John), the joy of her life, meant the world to her.
Darlene was a woman of strong faith and obviously God needed another angel. In her final days, she did it her way, surrounded by those she loved the most. Darlene was born on July 17, 1959, in Edmonton, Alberta. She had a feisty personality and always made the people around her laugh. Family meant everything to Darlene, and she was the spark for any family get-together and loved to throw a good party! She leaves behind her sisters, Linda (J.R.), Gail (Perry), Barbara (Roland), Elaine (Danny), Susie, and Patricia; and her brother, Michael (Twyla). She held a real special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews. It goes without saying, Darlene was the favourite auntie! Darlene loved to love on her grandchildren, Dane and Madeline, and shared their sense of adventure! Darlene couldn’t believe how flat Manitoba was when she went to visit Glenn’s family: daughter, Laurhys (John, Dane, and Madeline), brother, Vern (Cheryl); and sister, Pats (Ed). She had many friends including those she made through work, her childhood friend, Cathy, and the crew at the Raceway Bar in Arizona.
Darlene loved to travel. The “sister trip” Mexican cruise just last year was a very special trip filled with joy and many laughs. Glenn and Darlene’s travel adventures included her dream trip to Europe to see the Vatican and all the beautiful cathedrals. For their 25th anniversary, they took a bike trip down the Pacific Coast Highway. On their trip to Tennessee, they loved the blues in Memphis and the big lights of Nashville. There were, of course, many trips to Sturgis with close friends. But, of all the places in the world, her happy place was at their home in Arizona. Darlene will be remembered as a fearless lady with a huge heart and she will be sadly missed.
A private family only Funeral will take place Wednesday, January 27 at 1:30 p.m. with inurnment to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed and can be viewed later through Darlene’s Book of Memories at www.parkmemorial.com.
