Cyril was born in St. Mary’s,

Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador in 1953, where he worked as a
firefighter for the United States Air Force, married his wife,
Theresa, and started his family. Cyril moved with his family
to Fredericton, N.B. in 1974, where he continued his career as a
firefighter for Transport Canada, retiring in
1996.
Cyril was Roman Catholic by faith and a
parishioner of Saint Dunstan’s Catholic Church in
Fredericton. He was known for his kindness, selflessness,
and devotion to family. Cyril was an avid supporter of local
hockey and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren
at hockey rinks far and wide. He also enjoyed watching
hockey and curling events and, as a proud Newfoundlander, always
cheered on teams from “The Rock”. He shared his
love of travel and camping with his family for many years and was
regarded as an experienced navigator and trip planner. Cyril
also enjoyed cribbage and bingo; interests he lovingly shared with his
dear friend, Audrey. He was a formidable chef and enjoyed
preparing meals for family and friends, especially the traditional
Newfoundland “jiggs dinner”.

Sympathies message

  1. I was sad to hear about the passing of Uncle Cyril. He came to my mind the day before he passed when I was out for a walk. My husband and I were thinking about visiting New Brunswick, and I thought about visiting him.

Dear Cousins and Family , my heart goes out to all of you. Your Dad was a very special man, a kind and gentle soul. May he Rest In Peace.

    Take and God Bless,
    Linda Schreiter (Wiseman)
