Colin James Bray

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Colin James Bray, age 31, on Sunday August 1, 2021, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Sydney on February 5, 1990, he was the son of Anne MacNevin and the late Michael Bray. Colin lived the last 7 years with his partner and their 3 children in Sydney Mines. He spent the last few years as a deckhand lobster fishing.
If Colin wasn’t bike riding, having a bon fire or at the playground with his children, you would find him with a fishing rod in his hand. He especially liked being at his children’s baseball games. No parent cheered and clapped as loudly as Colin.
Colin is survived by his partner Brittany Matthews and their children CJ, Kyrin and Emery, mother Anne MacNevin, brothers Keelan and Jesse Bray and his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his lifelong friends Jason, Andrew, Brad and Mark, and by countless fishing buddies.
He was predeceased by his father Michael Bray and youngest brother Brannon Bray.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, at 2 pm in Munro Academy, Butts St., Sydney Mines. Covid 19 restrictions will apply at the service. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
