On Friday, February 19, 2021, Christos Frantzos, loving husband of 54 years to Ekaterini (deceased), father to Dimitri and Ioanna, grandfather to Anthony Koutroulakis, father-in-law to Sandra Avendano Betanzos, a very close uncle to Olga and George Papolis, Nitsa and George Gonidelis, Veta Tsitsilaras, Dimitra Michalopoulos and beloved brother of Anthoula Michalopoulos, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 104 at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Christos was born on January 15, 1917 in Rapsani, Greece to Ioannis and Olga Frantzos. He graduated from the technical school of Volos in 1938 and worked in a series of industrial endeavours from 1936 up to his retirement in 1992. He was also a World War II veteran who proudly defended Greece at the Albanian front.
He will be dearly missed and remembered by his son and daughter, grandson, daughter-in-law, nieces and nephews, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, and by his little great-grand-nephew, Philip Papolis, whom he was photographed with last August and who he asked about very often. He also leaves behind friends that he built everlasting relationships with in Greece, Canada, and the United States.
Christos touched the lives of many people in his immediate and extended family. He lived an incredibly fulfilled, healthy, and long life that left behind countless memories and values that his family will continue to carry with them forever in his honour. His legacies are his absolute dedication to his family, an immeasurable work ethic, and moreover his unparalleled human warmth.
Christos now departs to join his beloved wife Ekaterini with whom he shared a long lasting marriage filled with love, care and companionship.
Lastly, the family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and personal support workers for their kindness and care that they showed.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private family funeral service will be held and then followed by a burial.
