With great sadness we announce that Chris passed away peacefully with his family by his side, following a brief illness on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 53. Beloved partner and best friend of Libbi McTavish. Proud and devoted father of Jacob. Dear brother of Darlene Robins. Forever loved and missed by his extended parents David and Susan McTavish and Margaret Chambers (John Eakins). Cherished brother-in-law of Patrick, Jennifer (John O’Leary), Jason (Keeva), Jordan (Willow), Janet Nitsch (Matthew), Valerie James (Scott Taylor) and his niece and many nephews. Survived by his mother Mary Jane Foster (Brian) and Uncle Wayne Callender.
Chris loved music of all genres, always having some tidbit of musical trivia at the ready. He loved golfing, traveling and being with his family of friends, many of whom he called brothers. Most of all he loved the Ohio State Buckeyes Football team, spending many Saturdays watching them win their way to Championships. He was lucky enough to have attended a number of games in person and cherished every moment of them.
Chris’ family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener. Please note that if you plan to attend, masks are mandatory and you must RSVP through the funeral home website or by calling (519) 749-8467. A private service will be held.
