Obituary
Christine Helen Coltart
“You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.” (David Harkins)
The family of Christine Helen Coltart wishes to announce her death, peacefully met, on Saturday evening, September 18, 2021.
Christine was born in Carberry, Manitoba, on the “2th of Aug” 1925, daughter of Thomas and Ella Coltart, sister to John (predeceased).
Christine’s education took her from country school in Melbourne, to high school in Carberry, to Brandon University. Her lifelong career was seed analyst at Agriculture Canada in Winnipeg. Here, she formed long lasting friendships which were maintained over her lifetime by monthly “seedy” lunches. She was proud to have been retired longer than she had worked and enjoyed every minute.
As a resident of Osborne Village for 70 years, she witnessed many changes as the Village evolved. Christine was a vibrant member of Augustine United Church for over seventy years, welcoming new faces, and making all feel at home.
Family and friends were so important to Christine in glad and sad times and brought her support and much joy. Her Christmas card list was extensive and spanned the globe.
Left to hold her memory dear are myriad friends and circles of cousins. Grateful thanks to Christine’s Home Care team who were so supportive in her final days.
Memorial donations may be made to Augustine Centre, 444 River Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0C7.
Due to Covid 19, Christine’s family will celebrate her life privately. She will be laid to rest in the family plot at Carberry, MB.
