John Chester LeBlanc

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Chester LeBlanc, 90, of Alder Point, on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
Chester passed peacefully in his sleep at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, NS.
Chester was born January 12, 1931, to the late Homer and Florence LeBlanc.
At the age of 16 Chester started work in the Kentville Sanatorium and from there he went to Toronto to work for National Drug. After working in Toronto, Chester went on to pursue his love of the sea. He worked on the Great Lakes for 16 years, after which he worked all over Canada in the construction trade (Fort McMurray, Blind River and Port Hawkesbury) and retired after 22 years.
Chester was very loving and social. He will be missed by all who crossed his path.
Chester is survived by Sarah, her husband Travis, and their son Matthew, all of whom he loved dearly.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife Girlena Grace (White) Leblanc, who he married on June 28, 1969.
Chester was also predeceased by his brothers Lester, Roscoe, Cecil, Francis, and Peter, sisters Catherine and Teresa, his adopted mother and father Mary and Alex LeBlanc, and his adopted brothers and sisters Charlie, Joe, Andrew, Roy, Irene, Etta and Eunice.
A special thank you to Marlene MacIntosh and the VON community for taking such wonderful care of Chester over the years.
There will be no visitation. The funeral Mass for Chester LeBlanc will take place Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or. The burial will be held at a later date.
