Charles Chuck Thompson 2021 avis de deces

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Chuck’ Thompson on November 27, 2021, at the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born March 24, 1943, he was the eldest son of Charles and Cora (MacKinnon) Thompson of Sydney, NS.
Chuck resided at Victoria Haven Nursing Home for the last five months and we are extremely grateful for the care and compassion shown to him during his stay.
He was retired from the Cape Breton Post after working for over 30 years.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Ball) and his two girls, Kara and Melissa (Donald MacLean) of Sydney. Also surviving are his sisters, Coral and Evelyn; sister-in-law, Christine; brothers, James (Judi), George (Heather) and Frank (Laura), all of Sydney; many nieces, nephews and cousins; uncle, Gordon Thompson; aunt, Mary Jones and aunt, Marie Ranni. Chuck will also be greatly missed by his favorite dog, Rosie who always watched out for him.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, John.
Chuck played a lot of sports, hockey, baseball, bowling, curling, and hunting. He loved his Cape Breton Eagles, where he was an even-split ticket seller for 25 years.
He kept his dry sense of humour until the end. He loved his two girls and was so proud of their accomplishments.
We would like to thank Dr. Coakley, Dr. McLaughlin, Dr. Whyte, Dr. Matthew Smith, Dr. S. Abboud, Dr. A. D’Intino, the nursing staff of Glace Bay Hospital 3 West, the staff of the An Cala Unit and the staff of Victoria Haven, particularly Paulette (or as dad called her, Carlotta).
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. Interment will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
He wasn’t good with words,
And didn’t put his love on display loudly,
But it was there
Quiet, steady, and true
It showed in the things
Which he did and didn’t do
– John Mark Green

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Charles Chuck Thompson 2021..
