Catherine Elsie “Kay”
Sandeson – 99, Bible
Hill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 16, 2021, at
Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of the
late William and Elsie (Hilder) McWilliam.
Kay was a member of St. David’s United Church,
Bible Hill and worked at Stanfield’s for 22 years. She
enjoyed being a part of Bible Hill Garden Club, knitting, quilting and
tole painting; her family has many pieces of her tole painting work
that they will treasure forever.
Kay is survived by her children, William “Bill”
(Helen) Sandeson, Angevine Lake; Shirley Lewis, Truro; Darrell
(Marjorie) Sandeson, Greenfield; Bruce (Heather) Sandeson, Dartmouth;
Clayton (Sandi) Sandeson, Crowes Mills; grandchildren, Timothy Lewis,
Dartmouth; Sonya (Elmer) Shearer, Greenfield; Sheryl (Joel) Dauphinee,
Three Mile Plains; David Sandeson (Melissa Champagne), Winnipeg,
Manitoba; Christopher Sandeson, CFB Greenwood; Pamela (Kyle) McKinley,
New Maryland, New Brunswick; granddaughter-in-law, Oulay Lewis; 14
great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Charlotte McWilliam, Corner Brook,
Newfoundland; niece, Shelley (Greg) Cassidy, Corner Brook,
Newfoundland; nephew, Robert (Sharon) McWilliam,
Valley.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Frederick William “Fred” Sandeson; son-in-law, William Frank
“Bill” Lewis; grandchildren, Scott Sandeson, Tony Sandeson,
Trevor Lewis; great grandsons, Dustin and Austin Shearer; siblings,
Richard (Marion) McWilliam, Donald McWilliam; nephew, Allan
McWilliam.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service
will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, April Hart officiating.
