Carolyn Margaret Tripp Alford Wednesday January 27th 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carolyn M. (Cally) Tripp, peacefully at Brockville General Hospital, on January 27, 2021, one day short of her 80th birthday. The widow of the late Roger C. Tripp (2001), she was a retired teacher and two-time member of the Brockville & Area Performing Arts Hall of Fame. She may be remembered for such roles as staring as Anna with Roger as the King in The King and I musical and for a dramatic turn in Waiting for the Parade. Her great love was vocal collaboration and most recently she sang with the Thousand Islanders Chorus, her beloved quartet Please Stay Tuned with Chris, Gidget and Debbie and the choir The Belles of St. Mary. Until the past couple of years, she was an avid traveller to places all over the world. She has visited everywhere including going on safari in Africa, seeing the pyramids at Giza, taking a cruise through the Panama Canal and attending film festivals all over Europe – one of her favourites being in San Sebastien, Spain.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Sechi (Steve) of Brockville, Ontario, Karalyn Clark (David) of Las Vegas, Nevada and her two grandchildren Claire and Henry Sechi. She is also survived by many extended family: her brother Al Alford (Wanda) of St Albert, Alberta, sister-in-law June Alford (late Peter) of Cochrane, Alberta, sister-in-law Robyn Tripp-Friesen (Carl) of Whitehorse, Yukon, brother-in-law Eric Tripp (Carol) of Edmonton, Alberta, sister-in-law Sue Tripp (late Cliff) of Alymer, Quebec, brother-in-law Steve Tripp (Janet) of West Palm Beach, Florida, sister-in-law Lissa Verkerk (Ron) of Verona, Ontario, sister-in-law Cathy Davies (Preston) of Duncan, British Columbia as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by lifelong friends Phil & Eleanor Joughin of Burnaby, British Columbia and Del & Donna Wolsey of London, Ontario.
Cally never met a song she didn’t like to sing along and connecting with people through music was her joy. She always had a song in her heart and her favourite recent motto was “Be strong. And sing your own song.”
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no funeral or service. A Celebration of Life will be held when gathering and travelling are permitted.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Cally’s name to the Palliative Care program at the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
Send condolences or share a special thought of Carolyn on the Memory Wall above.
