Carl John Osadetz
January 17, 1930 – September 9, 2021
Carl John Osadetz, DDS (Toronto, 1954) MEd (Brock, 1983) was born on January 17, 1930 in Crowland Township (now Welland), Ontario. He passed from this life on September 9, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta at 91 years of age.
Carl was married to his loving wife, Elsie (Widish), on August 30, 1952 in St. Catherines, Ontario, where he practiced Dentistry. Later he was Associate Professor of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. He and Elsie moved to Edmonton in 1980, where he was a Professor of Dentistry and Director of Clinics until his retirement. He and Elsie have three sons, Kirk (Catherine), Gregory (Carmen), and Gary (Wendy), along with 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an accomplished accordion player, an antique car enthusiast, and a fixed wing aircraft pilot.
Carl was predeceased by his parents, John and Annie Osadetz, his sister, Leona, and his brother-in-law, William, all of Welland, Ontario. His presence will be missed by his many surviving extended family members and his close friends, in both Edmonton and the Niagara Peninsula.
