It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bruce Matthew Maither of Hinchinbrooke in his 93rd year on January 25th, 2021 at the Huntingdon Hospital. He leaves to mourn his wife of 64 years Jennie (née Jantje van Blankers) his children Jim (Judy), Joyce, Brenda (Bruce), Barry (Connie) and Tracy (Marc) as well as 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, his brother Ernest (Rosalie), his brother-in-law Henry van Blankers (Judy), his sister-in-law Ann Blankers and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents William Maither and Mary Levers, his sister Kathryn (late Clifford Cook) and his granddaughter Kristen. He was a true family man and had a great farm life. He loved antiques and travelled to many fairs and antique shows. He was always happy to have visitors and enjoyed family get togethers. A memorial is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to: The Women’s Auxiliary of the Barrie Memorial Hospital, 28 Gale St, Ormstown, QC J0S 1K0 or Huntingdon Hospital, 198 Châteauguay St., Huntingdon QC J0S 1H0.
