Brenda’s Obituary
Brenda Grace Hallett, 73 years of age, of Lydgate, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, with her family by her side. Born in Osborne Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas & Ada (Hallett) Holland.
Brenda spent her working years at Pierce Fisheries (Clearwater) until her retirement in 2016. In her early years, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making various creations out of plastic canvas. She also enjoyed playing cards, but her true passions were baking & cooking and spending time with her family. Brenda was a very selfless, thoughtful, determined and giving individual who never asked for anything in return. She loved to feed her family and friends most of all; that’s what gave her joy. She loved her game shows, especially “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right”, and never missed her beloved “Judy Judy”. She loved animals of all kinds, but had a special place in her heart for cats, especially Rascal, Milo, Rosie and Oliver.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Darcy; brother, Hilbert Holland; sister, Ida Williams (Preston); several nieces and nephews. A very special mention to three of her nieces, Karen, Kim & Krista who were by her side during her final days, and to a very special nephew Freeland, whom she adored.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carman, sister, Margaret Roache, and special sister-in-law Sheila Holland.
Arrangements are under the care and direction H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 58 Bulkley St., Shelburne, NS where a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. Pastor Tim Garren officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the wearing of masks and social distancing will be in effect.
Family flowers only. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Hope for Wild Life or Pet Projects, Shelburne.
The family wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ernest and the nursing staff at Queens General Hospital for their care and compassion during her final weeks.
