Grant left the world peacefully in the ICU of the Royal Alexandra Hospital after a year long illness. He was born in Edson, Alberta, but spent most of his school years and adult life in Fort Saskatchewan. As a youth he dedicated much of his time to Scouts and achieved the Queen’s Scout Award.
Grant loved family and friends, as they loved him. He was a sensible and very thoughtful man. Left behind are his parents Lynne and Gerald Bolton, his sister Barbara Ann and her husband Len Kucey, and his best friend and partner France Beland. Additionally, he leaves cousins, uncles, nephews and their remarkable young families, and many friends and business associates.
He worked mostly in the Edmonton area in security, fire and rescue, construction, and several technical areas of building, both new and retrofit. These included public buildings, schools, businesses, and private homes.
Grant is profoundly missed and will remain in the hearts of many.
A remembrance service will be planned at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Grant may be made directly to the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital Foundation 9401 86 Avenue fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L 0C6
