Obituary of Bob Wilkins
Wilkins, Robert Graham “Bob” of Aylmer passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Elaine (Killough) Wilkins (2013). Dear father of Gary Wilkins (Arlene) of Flesherton, Barbara Squires (Bob Walpole) of St. Thomas, Christine Lenton (Gary) of Ottawa and Brian Wilkins (Cheryl) of Pembroke. Loving grandfather of Dustin, Cal, Jan, Brian, Rebecca, Marc, Luc, Jocelyn, Brian Jr. and Shannon. Brother of Ruth (deceased), Ken (deceased), Leone, Doreen, Eleanor and Lillian. Predeceased by his daughter Lori Costello (2014). He will be missed by his 9 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Enniskillen, Lambton County, Ontario on January 18, 1934, son of the late Graham and Mildred (Sheppard) Wilkins. With his wife, Bob had owned and operated Wilkins Shell at Candyville Corners, and for many years the Boblane Marina at Port Bruce. He was a proud employee (machinist and tool and die maker) of the Gorman-Rupp company in St. Thomas and a railroad enthusiast. He was a talented individual with many mechanical, wood working and stone crafting skills. Bob was a legend, who knew many, and was friends with many. He was an inspiration and superb example of someone who wanted to maximize their achievements in life. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday 6:00-8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 1:00pm(masks and social-distancing required). Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
