Blanchard, known to many as ‘Mosser’, was
an avid outdoorsman and when he wasn’t lobster fishing or raking Irish
moss he was riding his motorcycle or 4 wheeler, salmon or trout
fishing, hunting or trapping or tying flies.
He was a wonderful role model for his children and
grandchildren teaching them to fish, shoot a gun, operate a boat, love
and appreciate the ocean and most importantly a strong work ethic. It
was evident he was happiest when he was with family and friends,
having spent 62 devoted years with his wife who was at his side until
the end.
He was an active member or supporter of a number of
community associations.
He loved local music and would often travel about
the Tri-Counties to attend an event. On occasion he would play his
harmonica and accordion for anyone willing to listen and stomp their
feet.
His grandchildren, nieces and nephews would tell everyone
“the more he teases you the more he loves
you”.
Blanchard will be forever missed by all who knew and loved
him.
