Betty Hathaway 19322021

Betty Hathaway
1932-2021
Following a lengthy illness, Elizabeth “Betty” Hathaway of
Everett, NB, passed away peacefully at the Victoria Glen Manor on the
morning of February 16, 2021.
Betty was born in the Scotch’s Colony (Kincardine, NB) on May 3, 1932.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Katherina (Gaunce)
Chapman. Betty leaves behind her daughter, Nancy Hathaway (Howard
Green) of Oxbow, NB; along with many nieces and nephews.
Betty was predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Edna Chapman
(Ruff), who raised Betty following the death of her mother when Betty
was four years old; her husband, Ralph Hathaway; her sons, David,
Peter, and Donald Hathaway; her daughter, Sally Hathaway; her sisters,
Mary Lou DeChant, Laura DeMerchant, and Phyllis DeRenzie; her
brothers, Ronald and Elmore Chapman.
Betty was a very kindhearted person. Everybody was always welcomed to
stop in at Betty’s for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat. In 2013,
Betty’s husband and her two boys, Peter and Donald, all passed away
within nine months of each other. She looked after her two boys at
home for over 58 years.
Respecting Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service held. A private graveside service will be held at Burntland
Brook Cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Victoria Glen Manor
Activity Fund or to the Burntland Brook Cemetery would be appreciated
by the family.
Betty’s family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to
the staff of the Victoria Glen Manor for the excellent care they have
provided to Betty over the past five years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Betty Hathaway 19322021..
