1929 – 2021
It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing of Hanna Best on January 17, 2021.
Hanna was born in Germany, January 24, 1929. Immigrating to Canada in 1951 with her new husband. They had two sons Derek and Greg. Hanna and her husband worked hard to buy land in Strathcona County, building a dairy was the result. In 1977, in tow with their two sons they moved to the Rollyview Area to expand the dairy to include their sons.
Hanna leaves to cherish and honour her life her son Derek and wife Judi; five grandchildren, Melissa Corbiere (Clint), Alexis (Jimmy) Nelson, Aaron Best (Brigette), Steven Best and Chelsea Best; six great-grandchildren, Adysonne, Harlee, Sawyer, Khloe, Brettlyn, Pierce and recently two step-great-gandchildren, Michaela and Kingston. She also leaves behind family in Germany, England and Edmonton.
Hanna was predeceased by her loving husband Anthony (Tony) in 2010; son, Gregory in 2016; daughter-in-law, Tina in 2000 and two grandchildren, Adrian (AJ) in 2000 and Caleb in 2008; and her loving parents, Florentina and Alfred Schiemann.
We wish to thank Dr. Samantha Smyth and nurses at the Leduc Hospital for the outstanding care given to Hanna and the support and comfort given to the family during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Leduc, AB.
A Celebration of Hanna’s Life will take place in the summer.
