1923-2021
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of our mom, Bernice Patricia Rathburn, in her 98th year,
formerly of Upper Kingsclear. Born on May 19th,
1923 in St. Stephen, NB she was the daughter of Albert and Bernadette
(Taylor) O’Brien.
Bernice spent many years as a loving and supportive wife and
mother. Prior to caring for her family, she worked at Ganongs Candy
factory and at the Woolen Mill.
Bernice will be greatly missed by her children, Paul, Pete
(Joyce), Patricia, Sue (Eroll), Joe (Dawn), Dave (Ruth); much loved
grandchildren, Blake, Ryan and Kayla along with great grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews; sisters, Evelyn Williams (Don), Connie
Harvey (Leon).
Bernice is predeceased by her husband, Lorne Windfield
Rathburn; sisters, Hilda Hammett, Eileen Gallagher, and Maxine
Gallagher.
A private visitation will take place at McAdam’s
Funeral Home with a burial at Hermitage Catholic Cemetery at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jobs Unlimited, who
provided wheelchair transportation for our mom to medical
appointments, or to the charity of your choice.
