Obituary of Barry John Weinhandl
We sadly announce the passing of our brother Barry John Weinhandl on September 5, 2021. Barry was born June 13, 1952 to Jack and Anne Weinhandl in Kelvington, SK. The family moved to Saskatoon, SK. in 1954, where Barry went to school at St. Joseph’s elementary and Nutana Collegiate. He later completed his journeyman carpentry designation. Barry worked at construction, Saskatoon Inn, Calgary Saddledome and his own business Target Renovations which he ran for many years. He enjoyed photography, basketball, art, cooking, gardening and woodworking. Barry cared for people who suffered addiction, homelessness and mental illness as he enjoyed a period of sobriety for many years with the help of AA. Barry was predeceased by his infant son; father, Jack; mother, Anne; and brothers-in-law, Gregg Miller and Clarence Walerius. Barry is survived by his step-sons, Joseph and Adam Merryfield; sister, Barb (Garry) Leschyshyn and her family: Connie (Paul), Blake and Wyatt Davis; and Tanya (Dan) Hudson; sister, Lee Walerius and her family: Will (Michelle), Bree, Bryn and Ashlyn Walerius; and Tammy Walerius (Glenn Young) and Zoe; sister, Karen (Glenn) Harbaruk and her family: Christopher (Jennifer), Jackson, Tyler and Lizzie Harbaruk; Kristen (Nick) Reid, Caius and Atticus Quigley. There will be a celebration for Barry’s life at Saskatoon Funeral Home on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
