Born in Orangeville on December 9, 1945.
Peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Beth Williams for 51 years. Dear father to Trevor of Barrie. Remembered by his brother Phil. Predeceased by his mother Isobel (1975), father Grant (1988) and his brother Wayne (2004). Barry will also be greatly missed by his nieces Teresa, and Jennifer and nephew Rob and families as well as many other friends.
Barry had a long career as a helicopter pilot with offshore oil support in the East Coast, Arctic and China. He was the Superintendent of Helicopter Operations for Hydro One where he retired in 2008 after 20 years of service. Barry was an accomplished woodworker, and also enjoyed playing guitar and listening to country music.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fall, time and date will be announced.
Arrangements entrusted to Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, Orangeville
A tree will be planted in memory of Barry in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.

  1. Dear Beth. I am so sad to hear about Barry’s passing. My condolences to you, Trevor and the rest of the family. I was so happy to have re-connected with you two at the Dom-Peg reunion a few years ago. We had some good times together a long time ago. Memories that I treasure.
