Barry Charles Lewis Saturday July 24 2021

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Barry Charles Lewis of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Georgetown on Saturday, July 24, 2021 in his 75th year. Barry passed peacefully with family by his side.
Barry will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Ann Lewis, his sons Todd (Julie Ellsworth) Lewis, Brent (Danielle) Lewis and his grandchildren Chelsey, Taylorr (Matthew) Martin, Braydan, Bryce and Morgan who all affectionately called him G-Pa. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings Bryan (Elaine), Bruce (Sandy), Leanne (Bob – deceased) and Lauren (Dan) Abercrombie, as well as his many nieces and nephews and truly everyone who has the pleasure of meeting him. His special buddy Maison will miss him and his treats more than anything. Predeceased by his parents, Peg (Alderson) and Erwin Lewis.
Barry lived a long, happy life where he excelled at everything he put his mind to. He retired from the military after 32 years as a Master Warrant Officer, only to go back and assist the cadets for another 12 years. He was committed to a life full of laughter, his family and his friends. He was everyone’s greatest supporter and the center of his family’s world.
Barry was known for his “sick” humour, his wicked pranks and his love for all sports, especially hockey. His loud presence will be missed in all the arenas across Ontario.
There will no public service as per his wishes, in lieu of flowers please hug your loved ones.

  3. So sorry to hear Barry always sent me jokes he had great sense of humor. I new Barry from Normandy and met him again in Georgetown on the BLVD. when a plaque was presented to Normandy Blvd.

  4. I just wrote his name in my retirement msg today thanking him for being one of my mentors/tormentors in my career and my first military Dad. He was always available to deliver a well placed kick in the butt as required and was quick with a smartass comment. I invited him to my wedding in Borden so he could meet my Dad as they had a lot in common. Little did I know that my brother would ask him to speak. I was nervous as to what he would say and did remind him that there were some nuns in the room. lol. He was irreverent and hilarious and I loved him for it. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family. He was one of the best. xoxo
