Obituary
Bubs passed away suddenly but peacefully at Royal University Hospital at the age of 79 years. She was predeceased by her husband John and her beloved cat Jasper who was her most favourite ever. Bubs is survived by her daughter Crystal Murfitt (Jay Sotnikow), son-in-law Keith Murfitt, son Bradley (Lori Fraser), grandchildren Paige (Joe) Basset, Brandon (Kylie) Anseth, Caylene (Sawyer) Wacker, Ryley (Taylor) Fraser, Cody (Kennedy) Jorgenson, great-grandchildren Lennon, Leo, Brielle and Myer Lei who blessed us all just days before her passing. Barbara was born in Rosetown, SK. She completed Grade 12, then went to Secretary School and worked at Rosetown Graham Hardware Store as their secretary. “Bubs” had many creative talents. Her hands would work magic with crocheting, knitting, painting and crafts. She excelled in typing many words per minute. One of her greatest accomplishments was that she earned a high school credit from The Royal Conservatory of Music for piano. Sports, sports, sports; she loved them all. Blue Jays, hockey games, Riders, you name it, she “always” watched it. But most importantly she never missed an event that included her kids or her grandkids. Unfortunately her health made it that she couldn’t enjoy her great-grandkid’s activities. She always saw them on the beloved “IPad” though. Bubs struggled many years with rheumatoid arthritis. She was in chronic pain a lot but tried to do what she could. She had to miss out on many special and important things. She loved cats and all animals even more than people. Barb was a unique person with a very dry sense of humour. She always had a caring way. We will miss her dearly. A Private Family Graveside Memorial will be held at Harris Cemetery.
