Augustine Dupasquier (née Boille)
Peacefully at the St. Claude Pavilion on Thursday, November 5, 2020 Mrs. Augustine Dupasquier passed away at the age of 95 years.
She leaves to mourn her seven children, Hank (Jan) Dupasquier, Lorraine (Maurice) Cox, Norbert Dupasquier, Denise (Hugh) Green, André (Yvette) Dupasquier, Gilbert Dupasquier and Norman Dupasquier; her grandchildren, Audrey (David), Patrick (Merle), Mike (Chyloe), Carolanne, Eric, Jessica (Tim), Ronald (Karine), Kevin (Nadine), Sandra (Walter), Joey (Melanie) and Tanya (Darren); her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kylie, Renée, Devin, Keenan, Dawson, Charles, Daphnée, Philippe, Nicolas, Colby, Austin, Brooke, Danica and Jeremy; as well as her sister, Odette Pachet and sisters in-law Alice (née Gobin) Dupasquier, Hélène Dupasquier, Miriam Dupasquier and Alice Dupasquier, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Augustine was predeceased by her husband Charles Dupasquier, her brothers and sisters, Georges (Gabrielle) Boille, Henriette (Steve) Swan, Anne-Marie (Roland) Nadeau, Antoinette (René) Huriet, Émile Boille, Simone (Jean) du Bourg, René Boille and Jeanne (Ken) Jackson as well as her in-laws, Georges Pachet, Marie-Louise (Gerald) Burgoyne, Albert Dupasquier, Jean (Mary) Dupasquier, René Dupasquier, Bernadette (George) Simko, Georges Dupasquier, Denis (Joyce) Dupasquier and Roland Dupasquier and her granddaughter Karen Joyal.
Augustine had done her schooling in St. Benoît School from grades 1 to 8, St. Claude School for grades 9, 10 and 11, and then had to go to St. Adolphe convent and school for grade 12 before attending Normal School during the last year that it was on Bannatyne Street in Winnipeg. Augustine was teaching at Emberly School south of St. Claude when she met Charles and got married. The first years, they lived upstairs at René and Antoinette Huriet’s (Augustine’s sister), at 49 Radaz Street in Saint-Claude.
In 1962, the family built Charles’ Garage on their lot at 65 Roy Street. They bought the Wawanesa Insurance franchise and were also agents for the de Laval dairy products. Augustine helped with the bookkeeping, did a lot of sewing, canning and gardening, all while looking after a growing family. In 1962, Charles was injured in a bad accident and spent two months in St. Boniface Hospital and then spent another two months healing at home. Augustine kept looking after Charlie’s Agency from home until he could work again. Augustine started as a secretary for the St. Claude residence around 1985 and continued until she was no longer able to work. She lived at 71 Roy Street until August of 2018, when she became a resident of the Pavilion.
