Guerard, Arthur David “Art”
…Into Gods outstretched arms he walked; Slowly, hesitant and fearful. God smiled, he wrapped his arms around him and whispered, “Come with me.” Then he was gone…
The family announces with sorrow his passing, Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer. Left behind are his beloved wife of 50 years, Shirley; his loving son David and wonderful daughter-in-law Leanne. He had four precious grandchildren, Samantha (fr. Chase), Austin (fr. Eva), Evan and Garret; His sister Elaine Fielding (Brian) and brother Malcom-Mike (Debra); His sister-in-law Dianne Guerard and brother-in-law Willis Cole (Shirley). Art was fortunate enough to have a warm and loving relationship with his foster family, Ken and Konnie Scarrow (both predeceased) and their children, Gloria, Veronica, Tony (Joanne), Mark (Sandra), Matthew and Kim. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Melvina Guerard and his special aunty Gladys. The two great losses of his life were his beloved son, Dale and best friend and comrade in all, his brother Mike. Also survived by many, many friends who knew him well, loved him, supported him and helped ease some of the burden throughout his lengthy illness. A very special thank you to Werner and Lisa Woodley and Gilles and Debbie Leblanc of Sand Bay Camp for all their help at the trailer and to Brian and Mary Taylor for their endless help at home and to the entire Corkum family for their love, kindness and support throughout. Thank you to the teams at NCCHSN and Maison McCulloch Hospice. From beginning to end the care was second to none. Finally, a big, big Thank you to all the Bayshore nurses who attended our home year after year and especially Marion, the kindest, most compassionate and truly dedicated nurse I’ve ever known. Hats off to you Marion.
