Obituary of Arlene Roberts
It is with an appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Margaret Arlene Roberts of Quispamsis, wife of Ronald Roberts, announce her passing which occurred on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 8, 1943, in Summerside, PEI, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Verna C. Schurman (Gay).
Arlene took great pride in her family and was happiest when surrounded by them all, often sharing a humorous story and a glass of wine. She thoroughly enjoyed making a home to raise her beloved children and grandchildren whether it was in NB, PEI, Ontario or Florida. Her door was always open to extended family and friends. She was fiercely loyal, and invited a lively debate.
She was much loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by Ronald E. Roberts, husband of 57 years; children, Mike (Ruth) Roberts of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Christopher (Melissa) Roberts of Quispamsis, Roberta (Luke) Kilpatrick of Upham, Craig (Terri) Roberts of Quispamsis. Sister Sandra Power of Summerside and brother-in-law Charles (Dawn) Roberts of Truro. Beloved grandchildren; Jillian, Ben, Jack, Elizabeth, Lauren, Ryan, Madeline, Molly, Mya, Gwen, and Meg.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by Brother-in-law William Power and nephew Billy Power.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd. (849-2119). In keeping with Arlene’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to Shadow Lawn Inn, Rothesay, following the Mass from 12-2 PM, to continue the celebration of Arlene’s life.
Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the Celebration of Life will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID, or proof of medical exemption.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Red Cross or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
