Arbing, William ‘Bill’
August 4th, 2021
On a beautiful sunny August morning, with a cool breeze blowing thru the door and the cardinals singing in the trees….our beloved Bill passed away, at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family, in his favourite place…home. A wonderful husband to Lynn for 55 years, proud Dad to his son Jeff and wife Trish, and adoring Grandad to Jarret and Sarah…all the loves of his life. Big brother to sisters….Barb (Norm) McIntrye, Gayle (Gerry) Farr, Heather (Ross) Spettigue, and Carol Smith. Uncle Bill to many nieces and nephews. We all have so many special memories of our life with Bill, whether we were family, friends, or neighbours. He touched all our lives. Bill started his career as a police officer in Windsor, earning awards in bravery, then as an instructor at the Ontario Police College, and later working across the province with the Ministry of the Solicitor General. Bill loved sports, from baseball, to running the Ottawa Marathon, as well as biking and he loved golf. His other love was cars….our family always teased him that we couldn’t count the number of vehicles he’d owned over the years. Of course that led to his delivering cars for dealerships and being so good at customer service that it made him a favourite with everyone, and developed some wonderful friendships. A special thank you to Dr. Lauren Gurland and Bill’s nurse, Jerome for their outstanding care and kindness, as well as the incredible staff on the oncology floor at Victoria Hospital. A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. The family would appreciate if you would share your fondest memories of Bill and any condolences below.
Bill will be in our hearts forever.
