It is with sadness that we announce the death of Antoinette “Tony” Miron at the age of 97 years, on October 20, 2021, at Extendicare Tri-Town. Tony was a hard working and independent woman, having lived on her own well into her 95th year. She had a great love of music, and enjoyed singing, playing various instruments, calling square dances, and attending dances and social functions. Her biggest and proudest accomplishment was releasing a CD with her band when she was 80 years old. She will be greatly missed by her children: Ida Cloutier (Roland) of New Liskeard, Yvon (Rose) of Englehart, Suzanne Boucher (Maurice) of Haileybury, Monique Miron of Earlton, Louise Gauthier (Art) of Kapuskasing, Charlotte Greenwood (Bob Duclos) of Fauquier, and Daniel (Trish Lavallee) of Haileybury; one adopted son, Peter Tessier of Windsor; one son-in-law, Raymond Lendt of Sudbury; as well as 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Émile; one daughter, Lina Lendt; one son, Gaëtan Miron; three great-grandchildren; as well as seven sisters: Jeanne Tessier, Germaine Gervais, Corinne Trudel, Lucienne Perron, Adrienne Gauvreau, Hélène Gauvreau, and Rita Laforest; and four brothers: Jean-Louis, Charles, Léo, and Arthur Gauvreau. Tony will be resting at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home on Sunday, October 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Father Ghislain Miji officiating. As expressions of sympathy, the family would be grateful for donations to the Extendicare Activity Department. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Extendicare and to Dr. Don Davies for their magnificent care and support during the last years of Tony’s life.
