Anthony Schachinger 2021

Anthony Schachinger, passed away peacefully at Hanover Care Centre on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
Born in Reid, Austria on January 21, 1934 to a large family of 21 children. He came to Canada on the Santa Maria Ship in 1954, at the young age of 20 years old in hopes of finding work and he had settled in to the Kitchener area. He met his wife Deanna, and married on April 27, 1957. Deanna who was only 16 1/2 years old was in love and they raised three children together– two daughters and a son. He will be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many extended family and their friends. In 1995, after retirement, they moved to Allan Park near Hanover.
Tony’s family wish to thank Dr. Cheryl White and Dr. Robert Basilij, the McVean Lodge – Hanover, the Alzheimer Society, all the Red Hat Sisters and the Hanover Lions Club for all their love and support. Also to everyone who has made the effort to call or drop food off, thanks so much. Special thank you to Angela and Glen with the Mighton Funeral Home, for your professional guidance and support.
