Anna Josephine Harrie Terence Bay
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Anna J. Harrie (Slaunwhite), on August 30, 2021, just a few days before her 90th birthday. Daughter of the late Rufus and Sadie (Spears) Slaunwhite, Anna was a lifetime resident of Terence Bay. Anna always enjoyed life, whether traveling, camping, celebrating, or shopping. Card games and lawn games, puzzles and knitting were not simply pastimes, they were opportunities to be surrounded by family and friends. Anna was a loving wife, a wonderful mom, and a caring nan. She will be missed dearly, loved always, and never forgotten. Anna is survived by daughters Rosalyn (Bruce) Umlah and Pamela (Gary) Conrad; son Bobby (Tina) Harrie; grandchildren Mitchell and Chelsea; brother John (Jack) Slaunwhite and by her little pal Dusty. Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years Mahlon (Dick) Harrie and by her brothers Donald, Gerald, Harry (Diddle) and Edgar. For all of their care and support, a special thanks to Dr. Crooks, the VON, Closing the Gap and the dedicated staff of Halifax Infirmary 8.4. Due to restrictions, a private celebration of Anna’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Terence Bay at a later date. Cremation has taken place at Dartmouth Funeral Home.
