It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Dr. Angela Marie Tonary-Caetano announce her passing on Friday December 24th peacefully by her husbands side, at the age of 54.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Saul Caetano, her parents Martin and Marilyn Tonary her brothers Zac and Shawn Tonary, Karen Coyle mother of nephew Matthew Tonary and adoring niece Kaitlyn Tonary, her Uncle Jim and Aunt Joy Smith, cousins Krista (Jeremy) and Jillian.
She will be lovingly remembered by her mother in law Maria Caetano, pre-deceased by her father in law Manuel Caetano, sister-in-law, Dulcinia Rankl (predeceased by Frank Rankl), nieces Melissa (Andrew Falkins) and Kaitlin Rankl, sister-in-law Delia Worthing, nephews Brandon and Liam Worthing, brother- in- law Andy Caetano (Angela’s winning Euchre partner) (Sharon), niece Charlotte and nephews Isaac, David and James, sister-in-law Karen Bartlett (Eddie, Angela’s Cribbage buddy), her Godson Mason and niece Sophia, (AKA Shooshaboosh). She will be fondly remembered by her dear friends, secret sisters, work colleagues and all of those that were blessed to have known Angela. Angela was an incredible planner and loved to host friends, family events and celebrations. She opened her heart and her home to everyone. She loved to read, play games and travel to the sunny beaches of the Caribbean and Portugal. She was a phenomenal baker and loved to share her special recipes. She loved swimming in her pool where she could admire her lovingly maintained flower gardens.
She was very devoted to her career as a Senior Scientist with Health Canada. Angela graduated in 2001 from the University of Ottawa with a PHD in Science. She will be fondly remembered for her loving and giving heart, contributing to several charities including the Canadian Red Cross, Ottawa Food Bank and the Canadian Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, N., Cambridge N1R 5N6, 519-740-0669 on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 6 pm – 9 pm. Cremation.
The family would like to express their many thanks to Krishna Sagoo from the ALS Society of Canada, the Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, Jodi from the Champlain LHIN, Tammy from Bayshore Home Care Ottawa and a heartfelt thank you to the PSW’s, Olu Abumni and Maria who lovingly cared for Angela.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the ALS Society of Canada or the Dimentia Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of life will be held in Ottawa and Cambridge at a later date.
