In loving memory of Andrew Joseph Boudreau, who passed away suddenly Sunday, December 19th, 2021, at home. Aged 77 years, he was born in Chéticamp, Nova Scotia to Mary Rose and Charles Boudreau (both predeceased) on January 23rd, 1944. Andrew was happily married to the love of his life, Stella Boudreau (predeceased) for 56 years. They had three children: Andrew Boudreau Jr. (Karen), Michele Cassio, and Monique Farrell (Shane). He was a devoted and loving father and a cherished Papa to all 6 of his grandchildren: Jacob Boudreau (Tarrah), Myella Boudreau, Sam Cassio (Alanna), Haley Cassio (Jonathan), Abigail Cassio (Maxwell), and Molly Farrell. He ecstatically welcomed his first great grandchild, Maxwell Cassio, in August of 2020. Dear brother of Clarence Boudreau (predeceased), Francis Boudreau (predeceased; Hilda), and Raymond Boudreau (Caroline). He will be deeply missed by all of his nieces and nephews, his wife’s family, the Ouellette’s, who took him in with open arms since he was 20 years old, and especially his “Buddy”, Brenda Mailloux. Also missed by his neighbor, Cathy Labrash, who was always there with a hot plate of food, and his dear friend Phillip DelPapa who never failed to stop by for coffee and a chat.
Andrew took precious care of anything that was “his”; his house, his tools, the clothes on his back, but most importantly, his family. He was devoted to his wife; he often said that Stella “saved him”. He was dedicated to his children, and when he became a grandfather, he and Stella helped raise them too. He was exceptionally proud of his grandson, Sam, and his music; his band, Murder Murder was Andy’s favourite. His house had an open-door policy, and there was nothing that made him happier than seeing his home (and pool) filled with the people he loved. He was a beloved member of the Capreol community, most notably as a respected coach of the Capreol Hawks for 14 years. Andrew loved hockey and could give you any statistic at the drop of a hat.
He will be remembered for his commitment to those he loved, his sense of humor, and his love of life and family. Those who had the privilege to know him will miss the way he could tell a story, his booming laugh, wide smile, and “that” look in his eye.
We will miss you dad, but we know you are where you belong, with mom, together again.
Due to COVID-19 a celebration of life will be held later in the Spring. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
