The family of Alvina Rose Martin (nee Gosse) is saddened to announce her passing at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Alvina, in her 96th year, was the loving mother of Ronald and his wife Donna, George and his wife Cathy, Sharon Austin, Robert and his wife Kim, Betty and her husband Sam Finlay, Karen and her husband Ken Buckell, and Wayne. Beloved grandmother of Shannon and Ian, Kim and James, Ryan, Matthew and Emily, Carrie and Allan, April and Tristan, Zackary, Sarah and Lucas. Alvina was so proud to be a Great Grandmother many times over and will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins – especially Wally & Marie.
Alvina is survived by brothers Ronald, Malcolm, Leonard and Winston, and is predeceased by her loving husband George Samuel (56 Years), sisters Florrie and Dorothy and brothers Reg, Ambrose and Harvey.
Visitation will be held at Mackey Celebrations Centre, 35 Lindsay St N in Lindsay on Wednesday November 24th at 11:00 AM, funeral service at 12:00 PM followed by a reception. Please note: full vaccination is required to attend. Proof of vaccination will be checked and masks must be worn. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Women’s Mission Society, St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family. The family also extends their sincere thanks to all staff at Caressant Care Mary St. for the care and friendship shown to “Vinie” during the past several years.
